Vom 27. April bis zum 3. Juni 2023 erobert die dänische Künstlerin Mie Olise Kjærgaard mit der Ausstellung Maneuvers on Paper unsere “Sauna”. Wir freuen uns, bei ihrer ersten Einzelpräsentation in der Galerie ihre zuvor noch nie gezeigten Arbeiten auf Papier auszustellen.
Mie Olise Kjærgaard (geb. 1974 in Mors, Dänemark) arbeitet in der Regel mit Malerei, gelegentlich auch mit skulpturalen Objekten und Installationen. Seit dem Abschluss ihres Masterstudiums am Central St. Martins in London 2008 konzentriert sich ihre Arbeit auf das Thema der von Menschen geschaffenen Konstruktionen, sowohl architektonischer als auch sozialer Art. In ihren farbenfrohen und oft märchenhaften Gemälden und Zeichnungen konzentriert sie sich insbesondere auf das Leben der Frauen – historisch und in der Kunst. Aktuell sind ihre Arbeiten in der Ausstellung MIE OLISE KJÆRGAARD: Holding Space in der Karpidas Collection in Dallas zu sehen.
Olise Kjærgaards Arbeiten wurden sowohl in den USA als auch in Europa ausgestellt, aber auch in Mexiko und Venezuela. Sie hatte Einzelausstellungen in der Journal Gallery, New York, bei Various Small Fires in Dallas, der Barbara Davis Gallery, Houston, Texas, der Hans Alf Gallery, Kopenhagen, Dänemark, und der Y Gallery, New York. Ihre Werke befinden sich in Sammlungen wie dem MFAH, Houston, JP Chase Morgan, Ny Carlsbergfonden, Philara Sammlung, Düsseldorf und der Ole Faarup Sammlung.

From April 27 through June 3, 2023, Danish artist Mie Olise Kjærgaard will take over our „sauna“ with the exhibition Maneuvers on Paper. At her first solo presentation at the gallery, we are delighted to show a body of works on paper which will be on view for the first time.
Mie Olise Kjærgaard (b. 1974 in Mors, Denmark) usually works in painting, occasionally sculptural objects and installation. Since completing her master’s degree at Central St. Martins in London in 2008, her work has focused on the theme of man-made constructions, both architectural and social. In her colorful and often fairytale-like paintings and drawings, she focuses on the lives of women – historically and in art. Currently, her work can be seen in the exhibition MIE OLISE KJÆRGAARD: Holding Space at the Karpidas Collection in Dallas.
Olise Kjærgaard has exhibited widely in both the United States and Europe while also exhibiting work in Mexico and Venezuela.
